It is with great shock and grief that we have received the tragic news of the bomb explosions next to the Municipal building in Reyhanli, Hatay in which many lives were lost and many others injured. On behalf of the Turkish Cultural Centers in U.S we convey heartfelt condolences and deep sympathies to the bereaved families and wish the injured quick recovery. We call the Turkish people to be careful against certain provocations.

On April 27th 2013, TCC CT Hartford Branch volunteers hosted a Turkish brunch attended by the community of Wintonbury Church located in Bloomfield, CT. The event began with a video presentation about Turkey followed by two more videos including Katharine Branning's book “An American Woman’s Letters to Turkey: Yes, I Would Love Another Glass of Tea" and Turkish Cultural Center activities.

On April 13th, 2013 Turkish Cultural Center joined University of New Haven for their International Festival. Turkish Cultural Center represented Turkey with different Turkish foods and deserts, displays and Ebru demonstrations. Students from different countries such as India, Saudi Arabia, China, USA and more represented their culture. At the end there were dance performances. It was a good turn out, below you can see some of the snap shots.

On April 20th 2013, TCC Hartford Branch Cooking Class newly graduates along with their chefs organized a field trip to Turkish Restaurant as well as a local Turkish Market in West Haven, CT. Soon after they experienced traditional Turkish cuisine at the restaurant, they paid a visit to the store to get authentic Turkish food. All in all, they spent unforgettable time together with the best wishes.

TCC was delighted to have the 7th graders from Mauro-Sheridan Interdistrict Magnet School on Thursday, April 4th. There were about 40 students and 4 teachers. Kids got to learn about Turkey and the TCC. They tasted Turkish food, dessert and chocolate. At the end there was an Ebru presentation, demonstrated by Mahiye Aksu.

We have celebrated another Cooking Class Graduation. The winter session has come to an end. We have enjoyed sharing our cultural with our new friends. We had students who have never tasted Turkish food to students who have spent couple year in Turkey.
