This class is for new students who have not received our Turkish Cooking Class certificate before.

On April 25th 2012, Turkish Cultural Center Connecticut organized the second "Turkish Cultural Day" at the North Lobby of our State's Capitol Building in Hartford. The event showcased a live performance of Turkish art of Marbling and a display of handmade embroideries. State Senators, Representatives and their legal aides enjoyed a delicious luncheon catered by Saray Turkish Restaurant in West Haven. After the national anthems of United States of America and Turkey the guests were welcomed to the Cultural Day. Speaker of the House Christopher G. Donovan delivered a remark for the day. During his speech Speaker Donovan stressed the importance of cultural interchange and thanked the Turkish-American community in Connecticut for sharing the Turkish culture at this event.

On April 21st 2012, Turkish Cultural Center Connecticut Hartford Branch guests experienced a Henna Night. Henna Nights are women-only celebrations in Turkey before a wedding. The women relatives of the bride and groom and friends of the bride attend this ceremony. Henna is used to beutify the bride and her friends at the night and women sing and dance among themselves. During the Henna Night TCCC guests learned about this ancient tradition and also had to experience to try henna decorations as well.

On April 18th 2012 Turkish Cultural Center Connecticut organized a Cultural Celebration event for the Turkish Americans in Connecticut at the Hill Regional Career High School Auditorium in New Haven. Turkish-Americans from all over the enjoyed the night with shows from TCCC afterschool tutoring students. The students read poems, sang songs and performed other shows to entertain the guests.

On April 16th 2012, Turkish Cultural Center Conencticut Hartford Branch organized a Doner Party at Hartford Seminary. The main theme of the night was the authentic Turkish Doner Kebab which is a famous Turkish dish made of roasted meat cooked on a vertical spit. The guests watched a video presentation of Turkish Cultural Center Connecticut's activities before enjoying the delicious Turkish Doner together.

On April 14th 2012 the Turkish Cultural Center Connecticut Women's Committee organized the last cooking class of the second of the cooking class sessions. The chefs displayed their talents and gave the tips and tricks of delicious Turkish Cuisine to their students. Following the cooking class there was a graduation ceremony where cooking class students received certificates of completion and some gifts as souvenirs.
